Jesus is our Everlasting Father
“For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given . . .
"And He will be called . . . Everlasting Father” (Is. 9.6)
Jesus and the Father are One
The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (Jn. 1.14)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” . . . Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in Me? The words I say to you I do not speak on My own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in Me, who is doing His work. (Jn. 14.6, 10)
. . . one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. (Eph. 4.6)
No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also. (1 Jn. 2.23)
He is our True and Perfect Father
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God is His holy dwelling. (Ps. 68.5)
. . . You, Lord, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is Your name. (Is. 63.16)
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, "Abba, Father." (Rom. 8.15)
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 Jn. 3.1)
Jesus is FROM everlasting (eternal existence)
And the Levites . . . said: “Stand up and praise the Lord your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting.” “Blessed be Your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.” (Neh. 9.5)
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom. (Is. 40.28)
Lord, are You not from everlasting? My God, my Holy One, You will never die. (Hab. 1.12)
