2015 started off with a bang for our boys:
Silas started eating much better (i.e. we had a few skirmishes and Mama won). He transitioned from formula to whole milk (the grocery budget is sighing in relief). And yesterday he started trying to take a few steps.
Justus is potty-trained! We started the afternoon of New Years Day, kind of on a whim. And three days later, he's a pro: dry even at night! (I think it paid off to wait until he was almost three....he was definitely ready!)
I had such a productive Saturday afternoon while Silas napped and Bryce & JD were gone.
In the evening, I was marveling at how nice it felt to just have one child for the afternoon.
Bryce said, And you want more? We laughed.
And then he said, What did we do before we had two boys?
Together we said, We did a lot! And then we laughed some more.
I thought about it for a second and then said, more seriously, But it's a significant endeavor.
Parenting. Two boys. Hopefully more someday.
It is an endeavor. Def: a strenuous effort.
It is significant. Def: important; of consequence.
It is an honor.
And, as Bryce reminded us, one to which we will give the rest of our lives, most significantly the next 20-30 years. Oh my.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9)
